FQF: Random Questions for 8/27
This week on Five Question Friday: This is my first time to join this meme. It interest me because I love answering random questions is quite fun.
1. How many pets do you have?
=We don't have pets since we were living in a condominium where pets wasn't allowed.
2. If you could switch places with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be?
=Well, I wanted to be with my friend whom now living in the Philippines. It made me thought of switching place with her for me to be able to live in the Philippines again for a while and eat my favorite food that I've been missing to eat since I got here in US.
3. What is your favorite money saving tip?
=Well, I think don't buy anything that you don't need.
4. What do you want your kids to be when they grow up?
=I wanted them to be a good person, to be ambitious and just choose the right direction in life. I just wanted them to God-fearing and just have their own family and have kids.

On Friday Faves: My Favorite Music/Song.
I love music and one of my favorite genre when it come to music are christian songs, love songs, pop, jazz, dance music (depends on my mood), and even light rock music. Sometimes, when I do household chores, I love to listen to music, any kind of music genre but mostly dance music. Then, I also love to work out with any kind of dance music. I think it always depend on my mood and my situation. I also love to listen to music when I'm in bed and alone. I also like to listen to music when driving around or when we were on a road trip.
To find one of the best songs I always love, well, it would be so hard to find since I have tons of them. I will share one song that i will never get tired of listening. It's a song by Linkin Park entitled "Leave Out all The Rest".

Puppy Dog Training
Toilet training your puppy will make life much easier and more pleasant for the both of you. It will make you stop having the accidents that make you clean up after him several times in the day. Start potty training immediately the puppy arrives in your home. The following training tips will help you get your puppy toilet trained in no time.
Before you start, understand that your puppy is a baby that has not learned much about controlling bowel movements. He could urinate or defecate without restraint. Therefore, you should be as gentle as you can. Praise him when he gets it right for reinforcement but do not punish or be harsh when accidents happen. Punishment when he goes in the wrong place will make him associate it with punishment and he will learn to start hiding the evidence.
The first thing is to know the signs to look for when he wants to "go". He could start running in circles, sniffing the floor, scratching at the door or whimpering. Puppies go to the toilet mostly after eating or immediately they wake up. They like to 'go' on surfaces like grass, wood, or soil.
Start by placing a placing a wee wee pad or some newspapers in the place you want him to use as his toilet. It should be far from where you keep his food. Choose a word like pee pee or poo poo that he will associate with 'going'. As soon as he shows signs of going, take him to the spot and stay with him until he goes. Praise him as he is doing it so that he knows he is doing the right thing. With some persistence, he will know and accept that spot his 'going' spot and you will not need to take him again.
Video and Computer Games
On Friday Faves is all about my Favorite video or computer game.
Since I've been to Facebook, I never thought I could be addicted to it. My sister introduces it to me a couple of years ago. Since then, I was stuck with it due to computer games they have in there. Some of the computer games I was addicted to is Farmville, Frontierville, and Cafe world. I played some few games such as Sorority Life and Mafia Wars, but I find them boring. So, I have decided to just stayed with those three I mentioned above. I also had a chance to play with Fishville and Treasure Isle but it was just boring as well.
So, when it comes to video games, I don't have one. So good to know that I wasn't addicted to any video games or else I will have no time to blog anymore. It's crazy!

Hostake Taking Crisis in the Philippines
Last week, I went on Face book to check on my virtual games where I have found out the recent hostage taking happened in Manila, Philippines. I was so curious to find out what it is all about then suddenly a lot of my fellow bloggers told me about it who recently lived in the Philippines. The hostage taking took about almost 10 hours and the thing is it was a nightmare. The hostage taker who is formerly a police officer named Rolando Mendoza took the revenge to 22 Chinese tourists visiting the Philippines and explore the country with road trip on a bus. At first, I thought it might be due to drugs, or even alcohol but I was wrong. It all started when Mendoza was being fired from his job as a police inspector. Then, as the hostage taking proceed, the hostage taker finally freed nine of the hostages,three women, three children and two
men and leaving 15 tourists on board. For the whole almost 9 hours of hostake taking, police covered the area and brought food for the hostages, along with fuel to keep the bus’ air conditioning running in the 32-degree-Celsius (90 F) heat.
As the hostage taking ended, it ends tragically after a SWAT team assaulted a bus full of mostly Chinese tourists from Hong Kong, resulting in the death of the hostage taker and nine (9) hostages. It was ridiculous knowing that there are still innocent victims inside and they started the firing. Isn’t it for hopelessness or just an incompetent action? No wonder why Hongkong and China citizens were mad in the Philippines government. Well, everything had been said and done. We can’t take back the lives of innocent nine people who died in the affliction. I was just so overwhelmed with the idea of dealing this kind of crisis. I never expect it to happen.
Anyway, after the tragedy, I have heard a lot of anger voices, opinion from acrimony. I know Philippine Police SWAT in Manila was at fault. But, as a half Filipino and half Chinese, born in the Philippines, I was quite skeptical that Philippines were not incompetent. We’re quite the same of all third countries and I knew how it feels to be downgraded, pointing all the fingers at us, being blamed from all this miseries. I thought because of what of one person did, everyone should be blamed? I think it is not a onetime catastrophe, hostage taking happened all over the world. I think as a human being, we have to be open- minded and try to put the situation on their part. Nobody wants this tragedy. I hope people who have died from this adversity will find peace as well as to those who have left behind. This is definitely an eye opener for all of us!

Miss Universe 2010 Show
Last two weeks ago, I was watching a live show pageant of Miss Universe 2010. Some of my friends are watching the show too. We’re all into it since Miss Philippines were in the list of top 15. Then, we just stayed on for a while and wait, until Miss Philippines was chosen again in the list of top 10. It was getting so excited and we just can’t help it but scream the hell out of me. I love beauty pageants, it is because I can see how some women are so perfect in their body but sometimes it made me think that it is all about beauty and brain. I came in the Philippines and so it is so natural for me to cheer up when our contestant representative will get into the list of top 5. We all scream and some of my friends were updating everything on Facebook which made us so busy for quite a while.
Then, here’s the time for the last important part of the show, the question and answer portion. Miss Philippines were being asked by an actor William Baldwin with the question: "What is the biggest mistake that you’ve ever made in your life and what did you do to make it right? And Miss Philippines Venus Raj answered, "In my 22 years of existence I can say there is nothing major, major problem in my life because I am very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So, thank you so much that I am here, thank you thank you so much."
Well, it sounds good to me but there’s something missing. I was quite skeptical that she will win the crown due to the fact that her answer was overlooking the idea of generalization. She thought that the question implied a major mistake that might happened during her 22 years of existence but I think she would consider those minor mistakes that she might have then compile them to be a major problem. As what most people said, I don’t think anyone in the world have had a major mistake done in their lives. I think she got nervous and maybe when she did some little adlib too before she answered the question did something to her eventually. Well, we’re all grateful because she made it and became the 4th runner up. I think she deserves the credit and I think she wasn’t meant to be a Miss Universe.
On the other hand, Miss Universe 2010 is a success. Some of the winners are Ms. Universe 2010 – Ms Mexico – (Jimena Navarrete, 1st Runner up – Ms. Jamaica (Yendi Phillipps), 2nd Runner up – Ms Australlia ( Jesinta Campbell), 3rd Runner up – Ms Ukraine ( Anna Poslavska) and 4th Runner Up – Ms Philippines ( Venus Raj).

When it comes to quotes I have a lots of them. It is just because they're very interesting but very helpful too. When I find something that can relate to my situation, I always find something that helped me to understand its purpose. Some of the quotes that motivates me, inspired me in some way are the following:

I know I've been there that after I had gone through it makes me more stronger and to be wise the next time around. I think quotes is just very inspiring in a way that how I live my life.
Watching TV Anytime
It’s been almost two years now since I have my laptop, so far I only had one problem with it, the CD hard drive, but aside from that everything was good except with the operating system which now they developed much better system called Window 7. Well, I wanted to update my laptop to Window 7 since the last time I checked it passed the requirement, but I don’t have the money yet to buy an upgrade. So for the meantime, I’m just going to reprieve with it until it will get out of hand.
Anyway, I love my laptop because I can just bring it everywhere I go. It is very portable since I can be online whether I’m in the bedroom, living room, in the basement while watching TV, or even in the kitchen. Sometimes it is just too hard for me to put it in the cooking area since I was afraid that it might get something to it and ruin the screen so I have to placed in our dining table, free from anything that might happened in the kitchen while I was cooking. If only I have a rack mount lcd where I could place in the wall of our kitchen where I can just search for cooking recipes at anytime or watch my favorite online shows while cooking would be the best idea. If that happened, I would love to be in the kitchen all the time.
Well, I guess, I have to talk to my husband about it.

This week on Small Talk Six is all about 6 things you would consider having tattooed on your body.
Actually, I don't feel secured and comfortable with tattoos. I find them fashionable and creative but I don't buy the idea of permanent tattoos at all. So, if I would consider, well, I have some options when it comes to this.
So, here are my six things that I would consider having tattooed on my body.
1. Aries - maybe I will consider my zodiac sign since it will represent of who and what I am. Basically as what my zodiac sign said, it was absolutely somewhat so true to me. Some of the characteristic would being defensive at times, otherwise desiring to be cheerful and left alone. A will to overcome fears and be strong. I think having my zodiac sign to be tattooed on me is definitely an emblem of me.
2. Butterfly - I consider it too due to the fact the butterfly personalized femininity. It also symbolizes transformation or change, love and joy which I need for sometime. Also, Butterflies are pretty and so many people want them as mere decoration.
3. Feminine tattoos - maybe because I'm a woman and I love girly decorations such as the same with flowers and butterflies. I think this would be one of the best tattoos to get. Sometimes female qualities attributed specifically to women and girls. It always associated with women.
4. Love - It may be associated with flowers and hearts. It is an understandable combination, both being a symbol of love. I think putting a symbol of love in your body also indicated that you were being loved and treasure by someone you loved as well. I think this would be perfect for those in love.
5. Lotus flower - a flower that grows in mud and emerges pristine and pure, to bloom in perfect beauty, floating sublimely on the surface of the water. A symbol of detachment - being in the world, not of the world. It simply send a message to the world or you can simply wear a lotus tattoo for yourself - to give you strength, to give you hope, to lift your spirits, to remind you to never say die, to endure.
6. Wings and Hearts - Wing tattoo designs can often have inspirational or spiritual symbolism. In many myths, wings often have to be earned. Simply it stands for love and if I put fire, it became for passion, the thorns for Jesus' suffering, and the heart for the old idea that warm feelings come from the heart.
Well, I guess that would be my option but it is better to have none at all...

Need a Privacy Door Knob
Sometimes I thought door knobs with no lock are a good thing here in our house, but as my son grew up and already knowledgeable about how to open or lock a door, I was quite skeptical about it. At times, I thought having our own privacy is very important not only on the sake of our own solitude, but also for our son. So, I thought of getting a privacy door knob for our bedroom and this time I can guarantee that we can now have our own privacy. Good thing I have found a wide selection of door knobs at very affordable price. I’m thinking of getting the polished brass finish door knob and I just can’t wait to get it in the mail soon.

Collections
On Small Talk Six: 6 things you collect, use to collect, or would like to collect.
Well, I used to collect stationery when I was in grade school. I trade them over my classmates and it was fun. I can get different types of stationery from color, style, smell, and design. Then, I started collecting music magazine after then and some photos of my favorite boy band Backstreet boys and West Life. Aside from that I also collected some other stuff and here they are:
Stamps – I love to collect stamps from a different years and cities.
Scented Pens – I also started collecting pens, different colors and scents.
All of a sudden, I stopped collecting that stuff when I went to college. I eventually never even collect anything anymore.
Now, I would like to collect quarters. I saw my mother in law’s collection of quarters from different years and states. It was awesome! It was so interesting that I wanted to do the same.
I also wanted to collect my entire son’s Thomas the Tank Engines collection, but of course, I can’t afford them all at once. So, I have to save money.
I also wanted to collect different stuff collection for scrap booking but just don’t have time.
Well, I wish someday I could able to collect them all. It is just not this time, maybe more years to come to look forward to.

=Well, I think so if there's no man eater in the area. I think I would as long as it is not winter or summer time.

=Nope! I think guiltiness would kill me for all of my life! I think that would be a bad idea since karma is just every where!

Real Log Furnitures
When I was still in the Philippines, I once visited my mother’s brother’s home. When I was there, I had a chance to stay at their house for like a week for a vacation. I also visited some other of my mom’s sibling and just knowing how great it is to just spend time with them for once in a while. When I was there, I noticed some of their furniture, some were made with bamboo logs and some were made of log. It was really neat seeing this type of furniture. Most people in the Philippines find bamboo and log furniture very affordable and durable; therefore, it was the one readily being used in every type of homes.
On the other hand, when I came here in US, I hardly find this type of furniture. Sometimes, I have found furniture made with Oak, Cherry or even pine trees. Then, a few years ago, we went to my mother in law’s neighbor up north and I have found this classic and yet so refined rustic furniture. I was so surprised that they have it in here. So, I looked online and I have found a lot of them from couch, futon, beds, drawer chest, and a lot more. They are quite expensive but they all worth the price.

Summer is almost over and in the summertime, living is easy. When the sun hits you just right and you feel the heat soaking into your skin, what’s playing on the movie theater makes all the difference in the world. Movies and summer is like baseball and hotdogs. One seems kind of tedious without the other. To take on the lazy dog-days of summer, you need to start early. Anticipate warm, hazy summer evenings in the city, or bright, muggy mornings in country. Either way, action-packed, romantic, comedy, suspense, thrilling movies makes the perfect role.
So, this summer time, when it comes to the best blockbuster movies, here are my picks for 2010!
1. Date Night - I saw this movie at the theater and the whole audience was hysterically laughing out loud during much of the film. Married couples can really relate to the issues covered in this surprisingly entertaining movie.
2. A Nightmare on Elm Street - I enjoyed it, this movie made me jump out of my seat way too much. It had every thing a horror film needed in order for it be good. It was gory, the acting was better than the original, it was scary, and a freaky ending. This movie really explained more about Freddy Kroeger than the original. If you are a true lover of horror films you will watch this awesome horror movie.
3. Shrek Forever After (The Final Chapter) - This movie is deep and existential and for the first time in the series, offers you a chance to think, rather than just laugh and have a good time. Immediately after the film, I admit I was a bit confused as I don't feel this film belonged as a part of the series with the other films, as there is little to no connected story line, but for weeks I have been thinking about the great poignancy in which this films message was carried through. This a more mature Shrek film and I feel it offers something new and worthwhile to the Shrek brand.
4. Killers - It is rare that I go see a movie at the theater let alone pay to see it twice, but I love it enough to see it again! Aston was not his normal empty-headed comedian in this film and it was wonderful.
5. Inception - A lot of people told me this movie was confusing, but I didn't really find it that hard to follow. This is one of my favorite movies in recent years because its got a great cast (DiCaprio is one of my favorite actors), and the story/plot is quite original.
6. Salt - A very excellent movie! Angelina Jolie has always been amazingly beautiful, but her acting has always needed work. Not the case any longer, she did a great job acting in this movie.

So, when my sister asked me to help her how to make a blog, I told her about wordpress. First Birthday Themes

Next week is going to be my nephew's first birthday party. I can't believe he is already turning one! I was so excited about it and I wanted to see him on his big day, but they were living far away from us. So, I thought of just sending him a birthday gift soon in the mail. As of now, I am still thinking of what to get for my nephew's first birthday!
Anyway, my sister even doesn't have any idea of what party theme to get for him. So, I told him about how to organize it on time. So here are some points I thought I would share to her after I had my son's first birthday party three years ago.

Before organizing a theme party, it is very important to know your child’s favorite hobby, passion, favorite characters and superheroes. It is not a matter of concern to find the merchandise according to the theme because all the party supplies are available in the market.
The next big important thing is to make a list of all the things that you need such as table covers, plastic cups, napkins, cutlery, costumes, accessories, games for the children and their gifts. All these can be purchased separately or you can get them in affordable packages in the market with most of the things included. Don’t think you need a complete dress for each kid in the party.
Favorite party themes for boys
Superheroes are a favorite party theme with boys. You can also do the American Hero party theme with lots of greens, reds, white and blue. Dressing the birthday boy in a Batman costume can make him extra special in a Batman theme party.
The Incredible Hulk party theme, The Spiderman party theme, The Superman party theme, The Justice League party theme which includes few of the characters together like Batman, Spiderman, Superman are popular themes among young boys.
Outdoor games party including a T-ball theme party, Baseball theme party with baseball caps as party favors can be a great hit too. A football theme party with finger foods and the girls dressed as cheerleaders can be of great fun. The inflatable bouncer house can be done for boys’ parties.
There is the Mickey’s clubhouse theme that is everyone’s favorite. Pokémon or the Pocket Monsters have been a big favorite theme for a while. The Super Mario Bros-Mario and Luigi can also be brought back to celebrate your child’s birthday party with brightly colored set of party accessories.

I totally love shoes! Shopping for shoes is already a part of me. I think it is a woman thing but sometimes it's beyond the limit. I know I have to control my urge to buy and buy shoes. Well, when it comes to shopping for shoes, here are some of my favorite place to shop for shoes. Here they are:
1. Famous Footwear - I love their wide selection of shoes from boots to wedges. I just love their idea of giving out coupons too and some deals such as the Buy 1 and get one 50% off, free tax days, reward member's opportunities to gain gift certificates. If you "like" them on Facebook, you will receive an exclusive deals and discounts as well.
2. DSW - I love their selection of shoes as well but sometimes some of their shoes are just over the price I would say, though all of their selection of shoes are quite made with high quality and really comfortable to wear. I bought like two pair of shoes at this store and both of these shoes were so comfortable. They also have reward member opportunities and some coupons as well. What I love about DSW when shopping online is that you can use coupons up to 3. You can absolutely save more money.
3. Charlotte Russe - I love their selection of shoes too. They also offer coupons and deals/discounts online and even sale on their stores. I also love their sale when you will buy one, you can get other pair for $10. So, sometimes a friend of mine will just go to the store to just enjoy the deal which is not so bad.
4. Macy's - I love this store when it comes to sale. All their products were branded and made with finest quality. The thing is, you have to wait until Macy's have something on sale. If they do, you will enjoy saving more money. I've been to that! Mostly, they do when it's almost in a holiday season.
5. Overstock.com - I love overstock.com too because some of their shoes are made with good quality. I bought like a pair of sandals and boots at this store and they all came in the mail so fast. The shoes is well made, they're cute and very comfortable as well.
6. Target - I love shopping at Target for sale shoes. They have cute shoes and very adorable women shoes. You only have to wait until they get on sale, then you will enjoy saving money as well.
Autumn is Near
A month more to go and it is going to be fall again. During fall season, we expect cold breeze of wind and the warm temperature will just decrease at the end of the day. I was kind of excited about the fall season though, but skeptical about being in the cold everyday and every night. I thought we can’t go out anymore and enjoy most of our day outside, unless we will get an outdoor fireplace for out patio. Then, we can able to just stay outside whenever we want, day or night. We can also have a s’mores whenever we want to until the winter comes then it is going to be impossible to be out again except when there’s no snow storm coming.
Well, I love winter, I love to play in the snow, but the only thing I despise about winter is just the coldness. It just unbearable sometimes and I hate to wear coats and sweaters. I know living in the cold state can be challenging, so I have to endure it until we can find a new place to live for the rest of our lives someday.

=I don't think I have any special talents at all. I can cook, dance, and sing but I don't think that they were special talents. Well, I don't know.

=I love slow music, they're calming to the ear...

=My favorite show? Well, I like to watch comedy show series and game shows.

=Yes, I do. One of the is Tru TV and Fox 2
5. What is your guilty pleasure TV show?
=Well, watching Forensic Giles, Body of Evidence, and Dominick Runne show straight in the row. No matter what time is it.
6. Berleen is on the top of a mountain. How on earth did she get there and what was she doing?
=Well, I don't know. Either she went for mountain climbing or camping. Maybe, she was just wanted to see the world at the top of the mountain.
7. Have you ever dreamt that you made love to someone you haven’t yet met?
=Well, I don't know. I never did though. If I do that would be so weird!
8. Berleen decides to run away and join the circus. What could you imagine her performing under the big top?
=I think so. There's nothing wrong with that. I think Berleen can do it!

=I have tons of them such as Inception, Wall-E, Star Trek, The Terminator, and The Matrix.

=Well, sometimes it depends of where we parked. But I always do return them on the cart park.

No Internet for a Week
Last week, I missed blogging due to the fact that our Internet connection was acting up again for about a week. So, we called the Internet provider, for them to do something about it. Unfortunately, they can’t do anything about it, so we cancelled the service and called a different cable and Internet provider, instead. When we called the new cable provider, they set an appointment right away. Early morning the cable guy came over and tried to install the cable and Internet, unsuccessfully, he can’t install it due to the fact that our basement was having no wire enough to connect it from the box outside the building. So, we had to wait a couple days for them to the drilling from outside to the inside of our basement.
After a day or two, someone called us that the drilling has all been done and ready, so then, a day after they called to set an appointment and it was on Saturday morning at 9. Sadly, no one was coming. I was so upset since I am all behind now with my blogging and I already had lots of pending tasks expired. I don’t want to undergo another wait, so I asked my husband to call the cable company to ask why there were none cable guy coming yet. So, they made another appointment time for the day and later by noon, someone came over.
After an hour and a half, all was set up. We have now cable and Internet again and I’m so happy. I can be online whenever, wherever I want! I was so happy! So far our new Internet cable was good; Wow is somewhat a good Internet and cable provider. Everything was set up already and we don’t have to do anything.
Best Gift Ever
One more month and it is going to be fall again here in Michigan where the transition from warm to cold temperature takes in. Then, winter will sets in after a couple months after autumn where snow can be expected. I love winter but sometimes it’s getting on my nerve. It is just too cold outside where it made my skin drier. So, I had to use moisturizer lotion to prevent skin dryness. During these times, there’s also a tendency where our basement will be extremely cold again. Our TV was placed at the basement. So every time we watched a movie or show on TV, I always used a heated blanket to make me warm while watching TV or a movie with my husband.
Using a heated blanket is quite very useful to me. My husband has a heated blanket too. We all loved it. We got it last Christmas from a friend of ours. It was one of the best valuable gifts we received so far. So, if we have a chance to give a gift to a friend, we always consider giving a heated blanket as well. I think you get one too. Trust me, they’re totally make you warm during cold days and nights.

Living Room Changes
On Small Talk Six is all about 6 things you’d like to change about your living room.
These is really what I wanted to change in our living room:
1. Our living room glass door. - since it was broken, we have to replace the whole side of the glass door just to install a new lock.
2. Window setting - I wanted to put our television set on our living room but unfortunately we can't since the windows are the way. If there's no window, then it would be easier since we don't block any window. Maybe, make the window smaller...
3. Wall color - Well, I wanted to repaint our living room wall to a more modern color such as beige or maybe something like a mocha color.
4. Put a ceiling light on our living room - we only have lamps on our side table and it is not enough to light up the whole room. So, I guess putting a chandelier with fan is a good idea.
5. Put more decor on our living room - there's only couple things in our living room so I think I need to change some of the decor and add some new ones.
6. Lastly, I wanted to put some rugs in our living room. - We throw the one we have since it is all dirty and even cleaning it won't help or change anything. So as of now we're still saving money for a new rugs.
